Dr. Reza Mansouri, assistant director of research at the Iranian ministry of Science, Research and Technology stated that IranÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩs has the worldÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩs 30th rank in scientific contributions. Nature journal reported that Iranian researchers published 2,152 and 4,813 scientific papers in the international journals during the periods of 1993-97 and 1997-2001, respectively, which contributed to %0.06 and %0.13 of the worldÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩs scientific contributions in those periods, respectively. The Islamic countries are only represented by Iran at 30th, despite the high GDP of many of them.
